Abstract: The increased number of users is one of the factors that cause performance decrease in a network. A mechanism of bandwidth arrangement is needed to guarantee network performance level to user. There are few methods of Linux base bandwidth limitation that can be used such as Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) and Class Based Queuing (CBQ). The goal of this research is to discover which method is better. The metrics to compare both methods are throughput, jitter, and packet loss. From the experiment, it was discovered that CBQ resulted is higher bandwidth leakage than HTB. Also, the jitter and packet loss produced by CBQ is higher than HTB. We conclude that HTB has a better performance than CBQ.
