This studyaimed tosynthesizehydroxychavicol from eugenolandsafrole. Isolation ofeugenolfromclove oilbyalkalineextraction methodgave71% yield, while theisolation ofsafrole from lawang oil byalkalineextraction method, followed by purificationusing preparative TLCgave7% yield.
