Abstract: Harvesting activity are the important job is oil palm production. Harvesting activity of Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) consist of cutting, collection, and transportation. The main topic of this research wos to find alternative transporter for FFB transportation. The problem of FFB transportation from palm circle to collection point are low bearing capacity of soil condition, narrow evacuation line, and low transportation capacity. The design criteria on FBB transporter are defined as the transportation capacity is 500 – 600 Kg, the ground pressure is lower than 800 kPa, transporter wide to the soil smaller than 100 cm, the unloading process is done manually, and has a simple mechanism. The result of transporter design are the ground pressure is 34.35 kPa and transporter wide is 925 mm. The functional parts that was support the main function are chassis, bucket, bucket rail, gearbox, engine, crawler, and seat. Based on engineering analysis, the material used for the chassis and bucket rail is canal U S45C with dimension (100 x 50 x 5) mm. Based on engineering analysis, the seat framework material was using the steel pipe with the outside diameter is 50 mm and the thickness is 4 mm, the material used have σa 24 kg/mm2. The crawler refers to Setyawan (2005), the gearbox is using hand tractor Quick M1000 Alfa and the engine is Yanmar L70N. Based on RULA analysis, the simulation at some work position likes steering, and unloading having the final score 2, it is mean design acceptable.
