dc.description.abstractImprovement of seed quality is pursued through the addition of lime to mantain the mineral availability. Media with salinity 4‰ aims to reduce the osmotic work level, so it will reduce energy used for osmoregulation and can be allocated to growth pomfret. This research used seed size 5.03 ± 0.03 cm and weigth 1.83 ± 0.07 g. Twelve unit of aquarium 20x20x15 cm were filled with water salinity 4‰ and added with different doses of lime CaCO3 as the treatments. Doses that used were 0 mg CaCO3 mg/ℓ, 150 mg/ℓ, 200 mg/ℓ, and 250 mg/ℓ. The result of survival rate showed 88.89%, 94.44%, 91.67% and 94.44% (P> 0.05). The growth rate of daily weight were 2.01%, 2.16%, 2.36% and 2.16% (P> 0.05). Absolute value of length were 1.22 cm 1.27 cm 1.29 cm and 1.20 cm (P> 0.05). All the results did not demonstrate the significant influences. During the research, the water quality was within the range that can be tolerated by pomfret fish seed.en
dc.description.abstractPerbaikan kualitas benih bawal diupayakan melalui penambahan kapur untuk ketersediaan mineral. Media pemeliharaan bersalinitas 4‰ bertujuan untuk menekan tingkat kerja osmotik sehingga mengurangi energi yang digunakan untuk osmoregulasi dan dapat dialokasikan untuk pertumbuhan ikan bawal. Benih ikan yang digunakan berukuran 5,03±0,03 cm dengan bobot 1,83±0,07 g. Akuarium yang digunakan berukuran 20x20x15 cm sebanyak 12 unit yang diisi air bersalinitas 4‰ dan ditambahkan kapur CaCO3 sesuai perlakuan. Perlakuan penambahan CaCO3 dosis 0 mg/ℓ, 150 mg/ℓ, 200 mg/ℓ, dan 250 mg/ℓ masingmasing menghasilkan derajat kelangsungan hidup sebesar 88,89%; 94,44%; 91,67%; dan 94,44% (P>0,05), laju pertumbuhan bobot harian 2,01%; 2,16%; 2,36%; dan 2,16% (P>0,05), serta panjang mutlak menghasilkan nilai yaitu 1,22 cm; 1,27 cm; 1,29 cm; dan 1,20 cm (P>0,05). Selama penelitian, kualitas air berada dalam kisaran yang dapat ditoleransi oleh benih ikan bawal.
