Title: Community Perception on Restoration Plan of Halimun Salak Corridor in Gunung Halimun Salak National Park (Case Study in Cipeuteuy and Purwabakti Village).

Abstract: The condition of Halimun Salak Corridor has been fragmanted due to the invanation of fast growing exotic plant species and human activities so needed the effort to restorate the area. In restoration, the manager should be concern on some economic and social aspects. The manager of Gunung Halimun Salak National Park (GHSNP) have arranged Plan Action of Halimun Salak Corridor Restoration (2009-2013). The community and stakeholder participations are needed to support the successfulness of this plan in order to create Halimun Salak Corridor with optimum and stable functions in longterm. The data that were collected during the research consisted of primary and secondary data. The primary data was collected through interview and field observation. The interview was conducted to sellected respondences and based on prepared questioners. The respondences were choosen using snowball sampling method. Speramen analysis was used to test the close relationship between community characteristic and community perception on restoration plan of Halimun Salak Corridor in Gunung Halimun Salak National Park. The area sampling was determined using purposive sampling method. The secondary data was collected from Gunung Halimun Salak National Park office and local governament institution. The Managers of GHSNP have initiated to arrange the action plan of Halimun Salak Corridor Restoration (2009-2013) in order to achieve Halimun Salak Corridor with optimum function. Among 8 arranged plans, the programs have been implemented generally in Cipeuteuy village but the percentage of successfulness cannot be measured yet. The programs in Purwabakti village are not implemented yet because they are still in preparation. Firewood is the biggest resource used by local people of Cipeuteuy and Purwabakti villages. The percentage of firewood utilization in Cipeuteuy village is 34, 33% and in Purwabakti village is 41, 67%. The community perception level of Cipeuteuy and Purwabakti villages to the restoration plan of Halimun Salak corridor is rated into moderate. The percentage score of perception level in Cipeuteuy village is 80% and in Purwabakti village is 60%. The community perception level to the implementation of Halimun Salak Corridor restoration is in moderate level too. The local people have known about restoration but they have not comprehensively understood. The community perception to the restoration plan of Halimun Salak corridor is categorized moderate. Therefore the comprehensive and periodic illumination is needed to build community’s understanding and awareness.
