Abstract: Rice is an important crop in Indonesia. Preliminary yield trial is alternative technology for increasing national rice production. The experiment was conducted using Augmented design. Plant materials were 100 F5 Lines of New Plant Type and three check varities i.e. IR64, Ciherang, and IPB4S. The results showed that plant height ranged from 71-120 cm, number of grain per panicle from 96-274, percentage of grain content form 22-75%, and weight of 1000 grains from 16.04 to 32.36 gram. Lines IPB158-E-5, IPB158-E-15, IPB158-E-27, IPB159-E- 26, IPB159-E-27, and IPB159-E-30 have important caracters of New Plant Type, so could be tested in advance yield trial.
