| Abstract: | Aquaculture is an activity culture for fish that have a good prospect. In all many kind of fishes that be cultured, Pangasionodon hypothalamus is a one of the fish which have good prospect in hatchery industry. However, the breeding of catfish (Pangasionodon hypothalmus) can only be done by artificial spawning with hormonal stimulation. Aromatase inhibitor (AI) have been known to accelarate the process of gonadal maturation in fish. The combination of aromatase inhibitor (AI), antidopamine (AD) and LHRHa has been used to accelerate the final maturation and also as a substitute LHRHa. In this study, various doses of LHRHa 0, 5,10, 15 μg/ml combined with AI and AD, which later named Spawnprim A, B, C, and D, then injected the fish with a dose of 0,7 ml/kg fish. Ovaprim has been used as a positive control and physilogical solution as a negative control. Fish injected with HCG at a dose of 0,3 ml/kg fish 24 hours before injection with spawnprim or ovaprim. Ovulation has been observed by artificially spawning by stripping. The result showed that fish injected with spawnprim been able to ovulate with good quality eggs at 14 hours after the time of injection or 2 hours late compared with ovaprim. Spawnprim can be used as an alternative in the artificial spawning with hormonal stimulating with hormonal stimulation with a more economical price. |
