dc.description.abstract | Wasur National Park (WNP) was one of Indonesia Natural Reserve Areainhabited by 68,8% native communities namely Marind Imbuti, Kanume, Marori Men Gey and Yeinan, also by 31,18% immigrants originating from Java, Sulawesi and Maluku.This research was aimed to formulate the implication of interaction between native communities with the immigrants for the management of WNP. The natives wisdoms were in the form of sasi tradition, wisdoms toward the sacred places, totemism, hunting and education system. Socio-economic interactions among the natives were expressed on the forms oflanduse and water consumption which might betrigger for conflicts, as happenened at the Tomer village between theKanume and the immigrants from Sulawesi. This interaction also established within the field of agriculture, labour, financial capital and land cultivation. Socio-cultural interaction were expressed through marriage, beliefs, religions, art and language, whilesocio-ecology interaction were shown by the similarity of resource exploitation pattern, tradition symbols and sacred places. Immigrants from Maluku also managed to establish an interaction in a matter of utilization regulation which influenced by the church sasi. The implications of the interaction of native communities with the immigrants for the management of WNP is the creation of regional regulations, zoning, law enforcement, cultivation of plants and animals ofnative communities’ totems, alternative natural resource utilization, community training and assistance which consider the presence and interest of the community itself. | en |
