Abstract: Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) has been reported to have the higher antioxidant activities than other medicinal plants. The aim of this study was to investigate polyphenol fraction activities from pulp pomegranate against blood lipid peroxidation (TBARS) in rats induced by paracetamol. Twenty two rats were divided into 7 groups. One normal group induced aquades and six treatment groups induced paracetamol (500 mg/KgBW) during 34 days. Positive control group of treatment induced Cursil®70 (13.3 mg/KgBW), and another groups induced polyphenol fraction doses 13.3 mg/KgBW, 100 mg/KgBW, 250 mg/KgBW, and 500 mg/KgBW, respectively. Polyphenol were extracted by acetone:water:acetic acid (90:9.5:0.5). TBARS was reacted by thiobarbituric acid (TBA) 1% and analysed by spectrophotometer in λ=532 nm. Polyphenol yields have got 36.2%. Paracetamol inductions as long as 34th days increased TBARS levels 120.66%. The PC and FD13.3 decreased TBARS 8.14% and 10.45% not significantly (p=0.548). FD100, FD250, and FD500 decreased TBARS 18.18%, 33.23%, and 41.84% (p<0.05), respectively.
