Abstract: There are two groups of filamentous cyanobacteria which is characterized by the presence and absence of heterocyst. Anabaena, Nostoc, Aphanizomenon, Calothrix, Scytonema, Tolypothrix, and Stigonema are examples of species heterocystous cyanobacteria species. Indonesia has a rich cyanobacteria diversity, however the knowledge about microalgae is poorly known. The data on the physiological characteristics diversity of heterocystous cyanobacteria from Kasepuhan Area West Java are an important information of the Indonesian heterocystous cyanobacteria. The objectives of this study were 35 days observation of the a chlorophyll and protein content of heterocystous cyanobacteria using experimental descriptive analysis. The 􀄮 chlorophyll content was analyzed using spectophotometric method and counted by Arnon formula, while protein content was measured using Lowry method. The result showed that the highest 􀄮 chlorophyll content was owned by CPG24 isolate(5,671 mg/l), at the 28th day.
