dc.description.abstractABSTRACT The technical performance of shallow groundwater irrigation schemes (SGWIS) might be able to be increased, either by improvement of pump operation management, improvement of the conveyance system, or improvement in the technology of irrigation application. The objective of this research is to develop sub-unit hydraulics criteria for designing drip irrigation within SGWIS that can ensure a high level of irrigation efficiency. The sub-unit hydraulics design criteria of drip irrigation have been developed in form of table, nomogram, as well as computer program, with parameters of diameter and length of manifold and lateral pipelines. With the technical specification of emitter, Ha= 50-150 kPa and qa= 1,41- 2,421/h, the option of lateral pipe diameters are 13 mm and 19 mm. With these lateral sizes, the diameters of manifold pipe are 40 mm, 50 mm and 65 mm. The criteria could be used as a standard and it could be developed as a design manual of drip irrigation system in groundwater irrigation schemes.en
