Feed Consumption and Preference of Scaly-breasted Munia (Lonchura punctulata L.) and Javan Munia (Lonchura leucogastroides Horsfield & Moore). Rice is the food sources ofcarbohydrates which is important for Indonesian society. Controlling plant pests is one of constraints to increase rice production. After rice-field rats and wild-boar, scaly-breasted munia (L. punctuluta L.) and javan munia (L. leucogas~roidesH orsfield & Moore) are the important pests. It is important to monitor the population in the field. The objectives of this research were to investigate the consumption rate and feeding preference of the bird. The feeding preferences examination was conducted by multiple choice methods, with six types of feed simultaneously on each cage. We examined the bird individually as well as in the population. Consumption rate of scaly-breasted munia and javan rnunia to grain was 2-2.8 glday. Male and female have the same rate. The bird showed their higher preference on natural feed rather than artificial feed.en
