Abstract: The purpose of the development is to increase the society prosperity can’t be avoided by the nature resources using: however nature resources exploitation which less attention to the capability and environment support make it’s quality decline. Sustainable development must be put as a need and now and future aspiration. Thus, the human right as economy, social and culture right, and development right is able to assist to make the development concept formula orientation continuity clear. The purpose of sustainable development could be achieved if the development planning has been got by the continuity principle of it, beside it should be understood/comprehended by the whole sides because it will participate both in planning and its application. Sukabumi is one of the city which rate growth of population getting increase. The rate of growth population about 1,31% pe annum, so it should be anticipated because the large of Sukabumi is only 4.800,23 Ha. Although Sukabumi is not too large but the population grow fastest. If there is no wise arrangement it will appear the ecological suicide like worried by Simonds (1986). Thus, the generation needed should be anticipated optimally by consideration the future needed. The continuity and balance city planning should be begun from the same perception and stakeholder or society comprehension in Sukabumi. The research purpose are following: 1) identify the perception and the comrehension of sustainable development principle from stakeholder and society in Sukabumi, 2) identify the sustainable development principle in planning document in Sukabumi, 3) analysis the indicator achievement of sustainable development, 4) analysis if there is an imbalance/gaps or not among the research result 1, 2, and 3. The result of research indicated that there is a perception imbalance and comprehension in indicator of sustainable development not only from stakeholder and society but also in planning document in Sukabumi. Imbalance indicated that it should be a performance increased in improving the actual performance, so that it seems like a feedback for getting better on future. The result of research indicated that the sustainable development principle has not become mainstreaming in planning document in sukabumi. However in Sukabumi there was an indicator achievement of sustainable development conspicuous than others city such as in education, health and water resources theme.
