Abstract: Journalists are often highlighted in the problems of human resource management because they are the front line of news production in the newspaper companies. The work of journalists often poses problems in terms of job satisfaction. This is so because of the very heavy work scope such as time deadline. On the other hand, they suffer from a lack of attention in terms of the company's facilities, operational allowances, welfare payments, lack of appreciation as well as the demands of a heavy load of news target. The objectives of this study were (1) to analyze the level of job satisfaction of journalists in the daily morning newspaper company Radar Bogor (2) to examine the human resource management system in the daily morning newspaper of Radar Bogor. The results of the study with the Analytical Hierarchy Process showed that psychological, social, physical and financial satisfactions jointly and individually affected the job satisfaction of the journalists. The average level of financial satisfaction was especially low, whereas the physical satisfaction was quite high, and some aspects were still not yet satisfactory such as coverage equipment, and work facilities in the office. Thus, the daily morning Radar Bogor still has to improve the financial and physical satisfaction of the journalists if the company wants to continue to develop properly. In general, the system of human resources management in the daily morning Radar Bogor is still simple and conventional. This can be seen from the structure of the organization in which HR is still handled by a manager who controls personnel and general tasks (Personnel Manager and Public). The relatively tight selection (in four stages) enables the recruited journalists to possess relatively high skills and knowledge. Thus, the selected reporters must be maintained by applying a competitive remuneration system and supported by adequate facilities and infrastructure, which will in turn produce maximum performance. It is recommended that the system of human resource management practiced in the daily morning newspaper Radar Bogor rely more greatly on the journalist recruitment through apprenticeship as they would adapt more quickly and are familiar with the organizational culture. Also during the apprenticeship process, the management would know better the capacity and characters of the journalist and thus good working relationships can be made.
