Tren Konsentrasi dan Faktor-faktor yang Mempengaruhi Aglomerasi Industri Manufaktur Besar Sedang di Jawa Barat

Abstract

Kecenderungan persebaran penguasaan PDRB dan laju pertumbuhan yang tidak sama akan menyebabkan semakin timpangnya pembangunan antar wilayah (Sjafrizal, 2008). Data PDRB menunjukkan bahwa terjadi pemusatan produksi barang dan jasa di Pulau Jawa. Ketimpangan daerah juga terjadi di Jawa Barat. Jawa Barat bagian utara relatif lebih maju daripada bagian selatan. Disparitas pembangunan ekonomi antar daerah juga merupakan akibat dari persebaran sumber daya yang tidak merata. Ketidakmerataan sumber daya ini tercermin pada konsentrasi kegiatan ekonomi yang terjadi pada daerah tertentu saja. Kegiatan ekonomi yang paling banyak mendapatkan manfaat dari aglomerasi yaitu industri manufaktur. Proses industrialisasi di Indonesia belum selesai, begitupun juga dengan industrialisasi di Jawa Barat. Oleh karena itu perlu kita menelaah lebih lanjut bagaimankah trend perkembangan konsentrasi industri manufaktur tersebut selama proses industrialisasi yang masih terus berlangsung.

The mean value of West Java’s economic growth in period 2001-2008 is higher than the national economic growth mean value (5,58% for West Java, while national economic growth mean value is 4,79%). This high economic growth is underpinned by the manufacturing industry as a major component of GRDP. But on the other hand, there is still disparities problem between region in West Java. The purpose of this study is to analyze the regional inequalities, the concentration of industry and the factors that influence agglomeration of manufacturing industries. This study was using secondary data from BPS including GRDP and large/ medium scale industry raw data. Using the descriptive analysis (Theils, Harfindahl and Elisson Glaeser Index) and also panel data method, the result shows that the concentration of industry is concentrated in Bekasi, Bogor and Bandung regency, and there are areas of concentration expansion of Karawang and Purwakarta. Factors that influence the agglomeration of manufacturing industries in Indonesia, are firm size, economies of scale, diversity of industry, ownership of foreign capital, wages, size of market and road infrastructure.
