Wood decay in building caused inefficiency in wood utilization. Decay mechanism in wood should be understood well to protect wooden Structure properly. This research aimed to know the changes of lignin and cellulose contents in sengon and pine woods after degradation test with Schizophyllum commune and Ganoderma applanatum. The sawdust of sengon (Paraserienthes falcataria) and pine (Pinus insularis) were used in biodeteriomtion test with S. commune and G. applantum for 2, 4, 8, and 12 weeks. Then chemical analyses determined the lignin and cellulose contents of the woods using T APPI standard. The result showed that G. . applanatum degraded wood faster than S. commune. The two fungi degraded pine wood slower than sengon wood. The cellulose of both woods was degraded faster than lignin by the fungi.en
