| dc.description.abstract | Indonesian climate with high precipitation and infuenced by climate variability like El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) becomes limiting factor for salt productivity and solar saltwork process. This research has analyzed the effects of precipitation for solar saltwork in Sumenep. Cluster and regression analysis was done for grouping solar saltponds and getting it’s characteristic value that influenced by rainfall. The solar saltpond group which has higher brine concentration becomes more sensitive by rainfall. Rainfall amount and rainfall day frequency during salt production season effects decreasing of salt productivity. On the other hand, length of dry season effects increasing of salt productivity. Sumenep saltwork producted much salt in 2009 because the climate supported production process, such as longer dry season with less rainfall. On the contrary, less salt was producted by Sumenep saltwork in 2010 because climate didn’t support salt production because of much rainfall during salt production in shorter dry season. Dry and rainy season onsets in Saltwork I PT.Garam (Persero) had experienced anomalies because of ENSO represented by South Oscillation Index (SOI) for 1999-2011 periode. | dc.description.abstract | Iklim Indonesia dengan curah hujan relatif tinggi dan dipengaruhi oleh keragaman iklim seperti El-Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) menjadi faktor pembatas pada produktivitas dan proses produksi garam dengan sistem evaporasi. Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh curah hujan terhadap pembuatan garam di Pegaraman I Sumenep. Analisis klaster dan regresi linier dilakukan untuk mengelompokkan kolam peminihan serta mendapatkan nilai sifat setiap kolam peminihan akibat curah hujan. Semakin tinggi konsentrasi air garam di dalam kolam peminihan, semakin sensitif kolam tersebut terhadap curah hujan. Curah hujan dan frekuensi hari hujan selama produksi mempengaruhi penurunan produktivitas garam. Sebaliknya, panjang musim kemarau meningkatkan produktivitas garam. Pegaraman Sumenep memproduksi garam dalam jumlah besar pada tahun 2009 karena iklim mendukung proses produksi garam, seperti musim kemarau yang panjang dengan sedikit hujan. Sebaliknya, Pegaraman Sumenep memproduksi garam tahun 2010 dalam jumlah kecil karena iklim tidak mendukung selama musim produksi yakni curah hujan tinggi pada musim kemarau yang pendek. Awal musim kemarau dan hujan di lokasi Pegaraman I PT. Garam (Persero) mengalami penyimpangan akibat fenomena ENSO yang direpresentasikan oleh Indeks Osilasi Selatan (IOS) selama periode 1999-2011. IOS juga mampu merepresentasikan produktivitas garam yang dibuktikan dengan koefisen determinasi sebesar 54.7%. | |
