| Abstract: | This paper discusses relationship among technological progress, renewable resources, and economic growth in economic growth model with creative destruction. This model deals with the problem of utility maximization with stock of resources and technological progress as constraints. It aims to determine the optimal allocation of labor and also the optimal steady state growth rate. The utility maximization problem is formulated in a form of optimal control problem, which can be solved using current-value Hamiltonian method. Furthermore, when the optimal growth rate is positive, we analyze how the optimal labor allocation and the optimal growth rate are affected by the parameters of the model, i.e. the efficiency of R&D sector, renewable rate of the resources, discount rate, and elasticity of marginal utility. The analysis gives the following results. An increase in the efficiency of R&D sector and renewable rate of the resources would improve the optimal labor allocation and the optimal growth rate. On the contrary, an increase in discount rate and elasticity of marginal utility would reduce the optimal labor allocation and the optimal growth rate. Karya tulis ini membahas hubungan antara kemajuan teknologi, sumber daya alam terbarukan dan pertumbuhan ekonomi dalam model pertumbuhan ekonomi yang berlaku proses creative destruction. Kemudian, dari model tersebut dibahas masalah maksimisasi utilitas dengan kendala stok sumber daya alam dan kemajuan teknologi untuk menentukan alokasi tenaga kerja dan laju pertumbuhan pada kondisi steady state. Masalah maksimisasi utilitas diformulasikan dalam bentuk masalah kontrol optimum yang kemudian diselesaikan dengan menggunakan metode current-value Hamiltonian. Selanjutnya, pada saat laju pertumbuhan ekonomi positif, dianalisis pengaruh parameter yang ada dalam model yaitu efisiensi dari sektor R&D, tingkat keterbaruan dari sumber daya, tingkat diskon dan elastisitas utilitas marjinal terhadap alokasi tenaga kerja dan laju pertumbuhan pada kondisi steady state yang optimal. Dari analisis yang dilakukan diperoleh hasil berikut: peningkatan dari efisiensi dari sektor R&D dan tingkat keterbaruan dari sumber daya akan meningkatkan nilai alokasi tenaga kerja dan laju pertumbuhan pada kondisi steady state yang optimal. Sebaliknya, peningkatan dari tingkat diskon dan elastisitas utilitas marjinal akan mengakibatkan penurunan pada alokasi tenaga kerja dan laju pertumbuhan pada kondisi steady state yang optimal. |
