Abstract: | Water availability is the main requirement for optimal growth and development of lowland rice. However, rice plants grown in the Planting Season II has a high likelihood for exposure to drought due to a shorthened wet season where wet season ended more quickly than in normal conditions. This study aims to analyze the effect of water availability - as a result of differences in planting times on planting season II - on the growth, development, productivity, and radiation use efficiency (RUE) in rice varieties Ciherang, Inpari 10, and Inpari 13. Planting time I was implemented two weeks earlier than normal planting time, planting time II is a normal planting time (synchronously with the farmers planting time), while the planting time III was one month later than the normal planting time so that the rice plants were subjected to drought at the later growing phases. The results showed all three varieties have the best growth, development, productivity, and the value of RUE at the planting time II, and on the contrary at the planting time III. In the drought conditions (planting time III), the varieties that has the best resistance to drought was Inpari 13. The average values of RUE (gMJ-1 PAR) at planting times I, II, and III for Ciherang were 3,16., 3,15., and 2,01., for Inpari 10 were 2,64., 3,14., and 2,11., for Inpari 13 were 2,87., 3,21., and 2,60., respectively. Ketersediaan air yang cukup merupakan syarat utama untuk mendukung pertumbuhan dan perkembangan padi sawah secara optimal. Akan tetapi, tanaman padi yang ditanam pada Musim Tanam II memiliki kemungkinan yang cukup tinggi untuk terkena paparan kekeringan akibat musim hujan yang berakhir lebih cepat dari pada kondisi normal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh ketersediaan air – sebagai akibat perbedaan waktu tanam pada Musim Tanam II – terhadap pertumbuhan, perkembangan, produktivitas, serta nilai efisiensi penggunaan radiasi surya pada tanaman padi varietas Ciherang, Inpari 10, dan Inpari 13. Waktu tanam I dilakukan dua minggu lebih awal dari waktu tanam normal, waktu tanam II merupakan waktu tanam normal (serentak dengan petani), sedangkan waktu tanam III mundur satu bulan dari waktu tanam normal sehingga tanaman padi mengalami kekeringan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ketiga varietas memiliki pertumbuhan, perkembangan, produktivitas, serta nilai RUE paling baik pada waktu tanam II, sebaliknya pada waktu tanam III menunjukkan hasil yang kurang baik. Pada kondisi kekeringan (waktu tanam III) varietas yang memiliki daya tahan paling baik adalah varietas Inpari 13. Rata-rata nilai RUE (gMJ-1 PAR) varietas Ciherang pada waktu tanam I, tanam II, dan tanam III berturut-turut yaitu 3,16., 3,15., dan 2,01., untuk varietas Inpari 10 yaitu 2,64., 3,14., dan 2,11., untuk varietas Inpari 13 yaitu 2,87., 3,21., dan 2,60. |
