Student’s academic survival is the ability of a student to remain active in his study. There were many researchers who have conducted researches concerning student’s academic survival but the data used were not considered as censored data. Data of student’s academic survival at Universitas Terbuka (UT) as a Higher Distance Education can be category censored data. The censorship type used in this research was right censor type 1 (time sensor). This research objectives were to (a) identify the factors which influence the student’s academic survival at UT, (b) determine the interaction and characteristics which significantly influence the student’s academic survival by using Cox regression, and (c) determine probability combination of the characteristics of student’s academic survival at UT based on the significant variables. The result of this research showed that most students of FEKON-UT (86,40%) could not finish their study program. The factors influencing the student’s academic survival were age, number of courses being taken, participation in tutorial activities, grade point average (GPA) of the first semester, and their cumulative GPA.en
