Abstract

The research was conducted in Brebes district coastal waters Central Java Province for twelve month from April 2008 to March 2009. The aims of the research is to know Length/Width-Weight relationship of blue swimming crab. Survey method was used in this resea rch. All of sample measured its length, width and weight. Regression analysis was used to describe length/width-weight relationship and condition factor. A total of 844 crabs sample consist of 367 males and 477 females. Range of crab carapace length are 2.1 em to 7.5 em and weight range are 6.53 g to 253.24 g. Length-width relationship of male crab described in regression equation CW = 1.8479 CL + 1.1787 with determination coefficient R2=0.9386. While, its Length-Weight relationship is W = 0.5374 CL3.0398, with detennination coefficient R2 = 0.9624. Length-width relationship on female crab described as W = 1.7993 CL + 1.5042 with determination coefficient R2 = 0.9407. Length-Weight relationship described as W = 0.7239 cu.ss93, R 2 = 0.9491 (CL=Length, CW=Width, W=Weight)-The average condition factor was 58.583 and 6.060 for all crab
