Many standards such as PKK1NI-5 1961, Sll-0458 1981, SKI C-bo-010-1987, SN1 03-3527 1994, and ASTM D245, stated strength ratio is very important indicate to adjust the allowable stress of wood. However the mechanical grading has been developed recently so strength ratio is not necessary anymore. This research is conducted to evaluate the ability of Modulus of Elasticity as a single variable to grade the sound wood and defected wood. In this research drilled hole represents as wood defect. This research saw that eventhough wood has been drilled, each variable (MOE apparent measured by Panter or UTM, or MOE true) is good enough to predict the MOR.en
