Abstract: Feed additive had been claimed as one of sources of heavy metals contamination which has implication on food safety from animal products. This research was conducted to investigate addition of feed additive containing heavy metal (FALB) on performance and carcass quality of broilers. Amount of 1100 DOC (day old chicks) were divided into 35 groups and given one of the seven drinking water treatments were R0: drinking water without FALB; Rl: 0,25% FALB, R2: 0.50% FALB, R3: 0.75% FALB, R4: 1.00% FALB, R5: 1.25% FALB and R6: 1.50% FALB. FALB containing Pb (7.21 ppm) and Cd (0.01 ppm). Feed and water treatments were given ad libitum. Variables measured were body weight gain, feed consumption and efficiency and heavy metals residue in broilers carcass. Data from completely randomized design were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued by orthogonal contrast test. Results showed that broilers drunk water containing FALB until 1.00% did not affect (p>0.05) on body weight gain, feed conversion and consumption, but treatment more than 1.00% FALB reduced performance of broiler. Broilers were given 0.25-0.50% FALB showed that good performance and the lowest heavy metal residue in carcass. It was suggest that FALB must be concerned critical level addition into broiler drinking water. Therefore, broiler could tolerance heavy metal Pb and Cd until 72.1 and 0.1 ppb respectively.
