Abstract: The aims of this study were to analyze consumption of vegetable and fruit rich in vitamin A and vitamin C and its relationship with incidentce of flu and diarrhea among freshmen of IPB. The data collected consisted of socio-economic characteristics (age, income, and food expenditure), anthropometry, 2x24hour-recall consumption, consumption frequency of fruit and vegetable, and length of flu and diarrhea sufferred by sample. The result indicates that nutritional status of students was mostly categorized as normal (80%). However, adequacy level of nutrients were broadly deficit (<90%). Consumption frequency of vegetable and fruit among students were relatively low, namely only 3.4 and 2.5 times per week respectively. Almost 60% of students had ever had infection disease offlu during a month of observation with average of illness was 3.4 days, and 38% samples suffered more than 3 days, which reflected low immune system of the body. The incidence of diarreha is quite low, namely was only suffered by 9% of samples for only 0.2 days. Category of consumption frequency of vegetable was significantly (p<0.05) negative-correlated with length of diarrhea (r=-0,19), whereas consumption of fruit with length of flu disease (r=-0,24); and consumption of vegetable+fruit was significantly negative-correlated with lenght of flu (r= -0,304) and diarrhea (r=-0,24) suffered by samples.
