dc.description.abstractGreen tea (Camellia sinensis) exhibited antioxidant activity. The purpose of study was to determine antioxidant capacity of the most active green tea leaves fraction using DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) and cyclic voltammetry methods. Methanol crude extract of the sample showed antioxidant activity higher than the acetone extract. Fractionation of the methanol extract by preparative thin layer chromatography resulted 10 fractions. Among the 10 fractions, fraction 2 was the most active fraction with inhibition percentage of 74.78%. Similarly, cyclic voltammetry method showed that fraction 2 was the most active on anodic area of 2.2710 μA.s. The result of phytochemical tests showed that the most active fraction contain flavonoids and tannins.en
dc.description.abstractDaun teh hijau (Camellia sinensis) memiliki kemampuan sebagai antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan kapasitas antioksidan fraksi teraktif ekstrak daun teh hijau menggunakan metode DPPH (2,2-difenil-1-pikrilhidrazil) dan voltammetri siklik. Ekstrak kasar metanol memiliki aktivitas antioksidan lebih besar dibandingkan ekstrak aseton. Ekstrak metanol difraksionasi dengan kromatografi lapis tipis preparatif (KLTp) menghasilkan 10 fraksi. Di antara 10 fraksi, fraksi 2 merupakan fraksi teraktif antioksidan karena memilki persentase inhibisi terbesar dibandingkan fraksi lain ketika diukur dengan metode DPPH, yaitu 74.78%. Begitu pun, metode voltammetri siklik menunjukkan bahwa fraksi 2 memiliki kapasitas antioksidan terbesar yang terlihat pada voltammogram daerah anode, yaitu 2.2710μA.s. Berdasarkan uji fitokimia, fraksi teraktif mengandung senyawa flavonoid dan tanin.
