dc.description.abstractSuperovulation is a technology that can be used to increase the productivity of sheep. The research was conducted to determine the effect of superovulation and administration of temulawak extract plus on differentiation of white blood cell in pregnant ewes. Sixteen ewes with body weight ranging from 20 to 25 kg were assigned into a randomized design with 2×2 factorial arrangement. The first factor was superovulation and the second factor was administration of temulawak extract plus. Estrous cycle was synchronized by injection of PGF2α 5-15 mg/sheep. Superovulation was induced by injection of PMSG and hCG 75-125 IU/sheep. The ewes showing estrous sign were then mated naturally. Temulawak extract plus was administered at the second month of pregnancy with dose of 1 mg/kg bw. Parameters measured in this research were neutrophil, basophil, eosinophil, lymphocyte, and monocyte. The blood samples were drawn every month of pregnancy up to parturition. The result showed that superovulation increased neutrophil during the first four months of pregnancy. The superovulation and temulawak extract plus administration decreased eosinophil at the third and fourth month of pregnancy and decreased the limphocyte at the fourth month of pregnancy. It was concluded that superovulated ewes had higher stress indicator during pregnancy and temulawak extract plus did not affect the stress parameter.en
dc.description.abstractSuperovulasi merupakan suatu teknologi yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas domba. Penelitian dilakukan untuk melihat efek superovulasi dan pemberian ekstrak temulawak plus pada diferensiasi sel darah putih domba bunting. Enam belas ekor domba betina yang telah dewasa kelamin dengan bobot badan antara 20-25 kg digunakan dengan rancangan acak lengkap dan pola faktorial 2×2 dengan 4 ulangan. Faktor pertama ialah superovulasi dan faktor kedua ialah pemberian ekstrak temulawak plus. Sinkronisasi estrus dilakukan dengan penyuntikan PGF2α 5-15 mg/ekor. Superovulasi diinduksi dengan menyuntikkan PMSG and hCG 75-125 IU/ekor secara intramuskuler. Domba-domba penelitian yang menunjukkan gejala estrus kemudian dikawinkan secara alami. Ekstrak temulawak plus diberikan pada bulan kedua kebuntingan secara per oral dengan dosis 1 mg/kg bobot badan. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini ialah jumlah netrofil, basofil, eosinofil, limfosit, dan monosit. Sampel darah diambil setiap bulan kebuntingan hingga induk domba melahirkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa soperovulasi menaikkan jumlah netrofil pada bulan pertama hingga keempat kebuntingan. Superovulasi dan pemberian ekstrak temulawak plus menurunkan jumlah eosinofil pada bulan ketiga kebuntingan dan juga menurunkan limfosit pada bulan keempat kebuntingan. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa domba yang disuperovulasi dan diberi ekstrak temulawak plus memiliki tingkat cekaman yang lebih tinggi selama kebuntingan.
