Abstract: | The aim of this research is to study the effects of giberellin and nitrogen treatments on the growth of the Smooth Cayenne cultivar pineapple plantlets. This research was conducted in the greenhouse facility of Center for Tropical Fruit Studies (CETROFS) located on Pasirkuda, Bogor on February to Juni 2011. The research used the Randomized Complete Block Design with two factors and three replications. The first factor is giberellin treatments with three levels of concentration, which are 0, 12.5, and 50 ppm. The second factor is nitrogen tratments with three levels of concentration, which are 0, 10, dan 20 g/L. The results showed that giberellin treatments only effects the leaf length and the plantlet diameter on 19 weeks after treatment, and also the leaf width and the number of leaves on 8, 10, 12, 19 weeks after treatment. The treatment of giberellin with the concentration of 50 ppm gives the highest results for the variables of plantlet heights and leaf width, whereas the treatment of giberellin with the concentration of 12.5 ppm increased the leaf length and the plantlet diameter. The treatments with 12.5 and 50 ppm giberellin accelerated the number of leaf growth. Nitrogen treatments affect all of the observed variables (plantlet heights, leaf length, leaf width, plantlet diameter and the number of leaves), but on week 19 after treatments, the treatments didn’t effect the leaf width and the number of leaves. The treatment of 20 g/L nitrogen accelerated the growth of the plantlet height, leaf length, and plantlet diameter, whereas the 10 g/L nitrogen treatment increased the leaf width and the number of leaves. The interaction between the giberellin and nitrogen treatments only effected the leaf width and the number of leaves on 4 weeks after treatment. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh giberelin dan nitrogen terhadap pertumbuhan planlet nenas kultivar Smooth Cayenne hasil kultur jaringan yang dilakukan di Rumah Kaca Kebun Percobaan Pasir Kuda Pusat Kajian Buah Tropika (PKBT) IPB pada Bulan Februari sampai Juni 2011. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Kelompok Lengkap Teracak (RKLT), dua faktor dan tiga ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah giberelin dengan tiga taraf konsentrasi yaitu 0, 12.5, 50 ppm. Faktor kedua adalah nitrogen dengan tiga taraf konsentrasi yaitu 0, 10, 20 g/L. Sumber tanaman yang digunakan adalah planlet nenas hasil kultur jaringan umur 2 bulan aklimatisasi dan didasarkan pada tinggi planlet. Ukuran kecil (tinggi planlet ≤ 7 cm), ukuran sedang (tinggi 7 – 14 cm) dan ukuran besar (tinggi planlet ≥ 14 cm). Penanaman dilakukan di bak tanam ukuran 8.5 m x 1 m dengan media tanam arang sekam menggunakan jarak tanam 5 cm x 5 cm dan kedalaman kurang lebih 5 cm. Aplikasi giberelin dan nitrogen dilakukan pukul 19.30 WIB dengan menggunakan sistem kocor yaitu 5 ml per planlet. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan giberelin 50 ppm dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan tinggi planlet dan lebar daun terbesar sedangkan giberelin 12.5 ppm meningkatkan panjang daun dan diameter tajuk. Konsentrasi giberelin 12.5 ppm dan 50 ppm dapat mempercepat pertumbuhan jumlah daun. Perlakuan nitrogen 20 g/L dapat mempercepat pertumbuhan tinggi planlet, panjang daun dan diameter tajuk planlet, sedangkan nitrogen 10 g/L dapat meningkatkan lebar daun dan jumlah daun. Interaksi antara perlakuan giberelin dan nitrogen hanya berpengaruh pada lebar daun dan jumlah daun saat 4 MST. Dari penelitian ini disimpulkan pemberian nitrogen 10 g/L, tinggi planlet dapat mencapai 30 cm di fase pembibitan pada berbagai ukuran berdasarkan tinggi planlet. |
