Abstract: Clarias is generally considered to be one of the most important species in which aquaculture due to its potential on high fecundity rate. The objective of this experiment was to find the most optimal and efficient stocking density of Clarias sp. at 35, 40, 45, dan 50 fish/litre to produce fingerlings of Clarias sp. of length 2-3 cm in medium height 30 cm with study of biology, water quality and economic. The experiment consisted of preparation, experimental design, rearing of fry, observation and data analizing. Clarias sp. fry of average weight 0,003±0,001 gram and standard length 0,77±0,03 cm were stocked in experimental tanks at 35, 40, 45 and 50 fish/litre. Monitoring of growth and dead fish were picked daily and recorded. It was conducted for the period of three weeks. The result of this study shown that Clarias sp. can be efficiently grown at density as high as 45 fish/litre with survival rate (SR) of 82,57±3,66%; spesific growth rate (SGR) of 21,33±1,15%; growth rate (GR) of 0,0062±0,0015 gram/day; yield of 11,60±2,23 gram/day; length growth of 1,17±0,06 cm; diversity coefficient of length of 9,30±1,05%; feed convertion rates (FCR) of 1,94 ±0,35; profit index Rp 2.245.772; R/C 1,14. Break event point: BEP in price Rp15.731.828; BEP in units 208.061 fish; and payback period 31 month. growth rate, length and FCR were no significant different (p>0.05) among the treatments. However the study has shown that SR, yield, dan diversity coefficient of length were significantly different (p<0.05) in all the treatment. Since the whole aim at growing fish at different stocking density is to achieve the best growth for profit maximization to the farmer, this study has demonstrated that Clarias sp. can be grown at density as high as 45 fish/litre in medium height 30 cm as long as there is good water quality and adequate feeding.
Ikan lele merupakan komoditas yang memiliki prospek pasar yang cerah dan dapat dipelihara dengan kepadatan tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan padat tebar yang optimal dan efisien diantara 35, 40, 45, dan 50 ekor/liter pada produksi benih lele ukuran 2-3 cm dengan ketinggian air 30 cm melalui kajian parameter biologi, kualitas air dan ekonomi. Penelitian ini meliputi tahap persiapan, rancangan percobaan, pemeliharaan ikan, pengamatan dan analisi data. Ikan yang digunakan adalah benih lele Sangkuriang dengan panjang rata-rata 0,77±0,03 cm dan bobot rata-rata 0,003±0,001 gram. Benih dipelihara dengan padat penebaran yang berbeda. Tahap pemeliharaan dan pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengamati kelangsungan hidup ikan dan mengamati pertumbuhan ikan selama 20 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan padat penebaran 45 ekor/liter merupakan padat penebaran yang optimal dengan derajat kelangsungan hidup (SR) sebesar 82,57±3,66%; laju pertumbuhan spesifik (SGR) sebesar 21,33±1,15%; pertumbuhan bobot harian (GR) sebesar 0,0062±0,0015 gram/hari; yield sebesar 11,60±2,23 gram/hari; pertumbuhan panjang mutlak sebesar 1,17±0,06 cm; nilai koefisien keragaman panjang sebesar 9,30±1,05%; nilai feed convertion rates (FCR) sebesar 1,94±0,35; keuntungan senilai Rp2.945.772; R/C senilai 1,20. BEPp sebesar Rp 15.031.828; BEPu sebesar 207.933 ekor; serta payback period selama 31 bulan. Perbedaan padat penebaran tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap GR, pertumbuhan panjang mutlak dan FCR. Namun berpengaruh nyata terhadap SR, yield, dan koefisien keragaman panjang. Kualitas air selama percobaan masih berada dalam kisaran optimum bagi pertumbuhan benih ikan lele Sangkuriang. Pendederan ikan lele sebaiknya dilakukan pada ketinggian air 30 cm dengan kepadatan ikan 45 ekor/liter yang dipelihara dalam lingkungan yang baik dan pakan yang tercukupi.
