| Abstract: | Crosslinked sago starch phosphate (SgP) has been successfully synthesized from native sago starch (Sg) and mixed of Na2HPO4-NaH2PO4 in an acidic condition. It was used as a bioadsorbent to remove Hg(II) as an in vitro of a human digestion. Both of the Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra showed the differences. Based on the dynamic study, the bioadsorption followed pseudo-second order kinetic and Freundlisch equation as chemisorption. As the results, 20,84% of Hg(II) was removed at pH of 6,80 and reached the isothermal equilibrium of the bioadsorption at pH of 5,80-8,60 for 29,95% and 31,39%, respectively. Pati sagu (Sg) berpotensi sebagai bahan baku bioadsorben merkuri (Hg(II)) melalui modifikasi menjadi pati sagu taut silang fosfat (SgP). Modifikasi tersebut dilakukan untuk meningkatkan resistensi SgP terhadap gangguan fisik, kimia, dan biologis. Hal ini diharapkan SgP mampu berperan sebagai bioadsorben Hg(II) dalam sistem pencernaan manusia secara in vitro. Hal ini disebabkan SgP memiliki gugus taut silang fosfat yang diduga mampu mengelat Hg(II) secara kimia. Hal ini diharapkan SgP mampu berperan dalam mengelat ion Hg(II) secara kimiawi dan dapat menghilangkannya dari sistem pencernaan manusia. Adapun penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui karakteristik adsorpsi Hg(II) oleh SgP dalam larutan berair (2) menentukan persentase adsorpsi Hg(II) oleh SgP sebagai bioadsorben dalam sistem pencernaan manusia secara in vitro. |
