Abstract: The objective of study is to investigate the effectiveness of vegetation canopy us noise barrier. Sound pressure level were measured 2.2 m in front of canopy and at the points of 0.5. 10 m rear of canopy of investigated plants canopy. The results of studies showed at the point of 0 m rear of canopy, sound pressure level (SPL) reduction or insertion loss (IL) were varied among investigated speceies of plants Puspa (Seinmu noronhae) was most effective reducing sound pressure level (SPL) at frequency of 8000 Hz with insertion loss (IL) 10 5 dB. Bambu (Bambusa vulgaris) showed the highest value of IL (16.1 dB) at the frequency of 8000 Hz. Soka (Ixom sp) and Teh-tehan (Acalypha macrophylla) were most effective at frequency of 2000 Hz and 63 Hz, respectively. IL of Soka and Teh-tehan were 9.1 dB and 7.1 dB). respectively
