Abstract: Air pollution gives spesific effect on every living beings. Plant growth changes and modification of anatomy due to air pollution. Cyperus kyllingia, Eleusine indica, and Rottboellia exaltata placed in the unit garden of Babakan Sawah Baru Dramaga – Bogor (location 1) and greenhouse (location 2). The aims of this research were to know the response of plant growth and leaf tissue anatomy of Cyperus kyllingia, Eleusine indica, and Rottboellia exaltata against air pollutants. Observations parameter on relative plant growth including plant height increase, leaf number and plant weight were conducted during 90 days. Anatomical observations were carried out on paradermal section using whole mount method and tranversal section using paraffin method. Anatomical parameters included stomatal density, stomatal index and stomatal size, non glandular trichomes, leaf thickness, mesophyl, cuticle, epidermis, and vascular bundle sheath. The results show that pollutants in the research sites have not disrupt the process of plant growth but with some modifications. The modification of anatomy in C. kyllingia in adaksial cuticle thickness. Species E. indica anatomy modification in thickness of adaksial and abaksial cuticle. Anatomical modifications of R. exaltata were seen in thickness of leaf, thickness of bundle sheath, thickness of adaksial cuticle and thickness of abaksial cuticle.
Pencemaran udara memberikan pengaruh yang spesifik pada setiap mahluk hidup. Tanaman mengalami perubahan pertumbuhan dan modifikasi anatomi sebagai pengaruh dari bahan pencemar udara. Cyperus kyllingia, Eleusine indica, dan Rottboellia exaltata yang ditempatkan di Unit Kebun Babakan blok E University Farm Babakan Sawah Baru Darmaga – Bogor (lokasi 1) dan rumah kaca (lokasi 2). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon pertumbuhan tanaman dan anatomi jaringan daun pada Cyperus kyllingia, Eleusine indica, dan Rottboellia exaltata terhadap perbedaan tingkat pencemaran udara. Parameter pengamatan pertumbuhan yang meliputi pertambahan tinggi, jumlah daun dan bobot tanaman dilakukan selama 90 hari. Pengamatan anatomi meliputi sayatan paradermal dengan menggunakan metode whole mount dan sayatan transversal dengan menggunakan metode parafin. Parameter anatomi jaringan daun yang diamati meliputi kerapatan stomata, indeks stomata dan ukuran stomata, trikoma non kelenjar, tebal daun, tebal mesofil, tebal kutikula, tebal epidermis, dan tebal seludang pembuluh. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa bahan pencemar di lokasi penelitian belum mengganggu proses pertumbuhan tanaman namun disertai beberapa modifikasi. Modifikasi anatomi pada C. kyllingia adalah tebal kutikula. Jenis E. indica mengalami modifikasi pada tebal kutikula adaksial dan abaksial. Modifikasi anatomi pada R. exaltata terlihat pada tebal daun, tebal seludang pembuluh, tebal kutikula adaksial dan abaksial.
