Studi tentang fungsi alun-alun Bandung sebagai ruang terbuka hijau kota

Abstract

Alun-alun Bandung (Bandung Square) has an important value during the city development history. Formerly the square had the meaning for social aclivites and as traditional authority symbol. During the development of the city, the square had the function as greenery open space in a form of city park. Further city development has impacted on the change of the square function, that is now being a place for informal market. This study evaluated the function of the square due to the former function as greenery open space and landmark of Bandung city. The study proposed a square development concept as well as land-use. circulation and greenery open space. The function of Bandung square should be reclaimed as greenery open space in order to upgrading urban environment quality
