Evaluasi Teknis Pemeliharaan Sapi Perah Friesian Holstein Peternakan Rakyat Di Desa Cibeureum Cisarua Kabupaten Bogor

Abstract

This research was conducted to evaluate Farming practices of small holder (breeding and reproduction, feeding, management, housing and equipment, and animal health) at dairy farm Cibeureum located in Cisarua Bogor. This research was carried out from March to August 2010. Data were collected from 40 farms using survey method based on field observation, interview with farmers, and direct measurement. Secondary data were collected from local subdistrict and Giri Tani cooperative. The data were frequency tabulated and analyzed using. The the differences between observation and expectation value were analyzed ysing chisquare test (X2). The result showed that farmers knowledge and skills of dairy farming practices were lower than expectated value for breeding and reproduction (75,42%), selection method (34,37%). Therefore, improving farmers knowledge and skill and skill on the most critical point such as cattle selection can be used as a strategy to improve productivity on their farms.
