Abstract: The objective of the study was to analyze relation between child care practices and child nutrition status in Rural Mulya Harja. Variables were classified according to the categories of UNICEF model of care. The study was a cross sectional, one hundred and thirty two households with J 32 children from ages J 2 to 47 month were part of this study. Mothers as respondent were interviewed to col/ect nformation child feeding and health practices, environment sanitation, child illnesses (diarrhea dan respiratory infections), child consumption and household expenditures (food and non food). The study showed that 40,2% children were moderate underweight and 5,3% children were severe underweight, 36,4% children were moderate stunting and 24,2% were severe stunting and J 2, J% children were moderate wasting. The study also found that 52,3% children were suffered from respiratory infection (cold dan flu), 31,8% were diarrhea infection one episode and 7,6% were diarrhea infection two episode. Child feeding practices associated with child protein consumption but not with child nutritional status. There was a relationship between duration of maternal schooling and child height-for-age. Child health practices were associated with the duration of diarrhea infection.
