Biological characterization, scrological assay and dna finger printing analysis of pepper yellow leaf curl virus

Abstract

High incidence of pepper yellow leaf curl virus was observed in Indonesia since 2000. The disease causes serious yield reduction in many fields. Cieminvirus is the causal agent of the disease. The aims of this research is (1) to confirm the disease incidence and severity in the field; (2) to identify the Pepper yellow la$ csrrl v i m by biological characterization, serological assay arid DNA fhgx printing analysis. To acbieve the obyective of the research the mekdology chosen involved field survey and identification of the causal agent through (1) host range and vim-vector relationships study; (2) antiserum production and serological assay of the virus; (3) PCR-RFLP- based DNA finger printing to shtdy the geminivirus diversity; (4) DNA sequencing analyse similarity among the &minivim

Sejak tahun 2000 terjadi peningkatan kejadian penyakit daun keriting kuning cabai di Indonesia sehingga menimbulkan kerugian besar pada pertanaman cabai. Penyebab penyakit tersebut adalah geminivirus.
