Abstract: Dampak liberalisasi perdagangan merupakan salah satu topik yang masih sering diperdebatkan sampai saat ini. Dua kutub yang saling berbeda pandangan memiliki argumen yang kuat mengenai dampak positif dan negatif dari liberalisasi ini. Kelompok yang pro-liberalisasi mengklaim bahwa liberalisasi memberikan manfaat berupa peningkatan ekspor dan kesejahteraan masyarakat, sementara kelompok yang anti-liberalisasi justru menuding liberalisasi berpotensi untuk menghacurkan perekonomian suatu negara. Terlepas dari perdebatan tersebut, liberalisasi berpotensi untuk menciptakan peluang sekaligus tantangan bagi setiap negara. Liberalisasi diperkirakan juga akan merobah peta perdagangan dunia. Pertanyaan yang muncul adalah apakah semua negara di dunia siap menghadapi liberalisasi? Untuk menjawab perdebatan tersebut, diperlukan suatu penelitian yang mampu menemukan suatu jawaban tentang dampak yang ditimbulkannya.
The process of economic liberalization that create a free trade area in the world is becoming to be reality after three pillars of agricultural negotiation involved domestic supports, export subsidies, and market access has been agreed to be eliminated by 2013. Nevert heless, this liberalization polic y is believed to be able to create some opportunities and challenges. This policy is expected to change the trade map of all commodities in the world either manufacture or agricultural products. Indonesia is one country that will be expected to be infected by this policy, because agriculture sector is still becoming one of the key sector in Indonesian economy. This research intends: (1) to map the international trade flow specialy in the agricultral sector, (2) to analyze the impact of trade protection elimination, and (3) to explore the impact of tariffs on special product prevailed by Indonesia. The GTAP model was used as the main tool of analysis.
