The goals of this research wwe to observe the influence of isoflavon and its combination with vitamin E on (1) cholesterol metabolism (hypolipidemik effect), (2) LDL resistance towards oxidation, and (3) atherosclerotic plaque formation. Blood samples for plasma lipid measurements were taken every th-ree -months. At the end of the treatment period, LDLaxidation was determined and animals were sacrificed. Left anterior descending (LAD) and left circumflex coronary (LCX) artery tissues were processed for morphometric analyses of plaque formation.
