dc.description.abstractThe present experzment zs a contznuatzon of the earlzer two experzments, namely (1) the effect of auxin, part of plant, and variety in inducing shoot initiation, and (2) the effect of auxin and cytokinin in inducing shoot initiation and calus formation. Three factors are used in the present experiment, these are (1) auxin (0.05 mg/l 2,4-D and 0.1 mg/l IAA), (2) a~cymidol (0.00, 0.75, 1.50, 2.25, 3.00, and 3.75 mg/l), and (3) part of shoot (based and tip). The result shows that ancymidol are Significantly effective on shortening of intemodes, while shoot based gives good explant for calus regeneration.id
