dc.description.abstract	Solanum aviculara and S. laciniatum were Introduced and tried in the laboratory, in the green house and under field conditions. As anticipated seed germination was better under laboratory conditions compared with that In the green house. At Pasir Sarongge {1l00 m above sea level) the plant grew well, flowered and set fruit. Theydid poorly'at Bogor{226 m above sea level}. Excessive watering resulted in a higher incidence of bacterial wilt.	id
