Abstract: To increase the adoption of climate information by users, an effective climate information system should be developed. An effective climate information system is a system which is able to provide climate information which is easy to understand, meet the client needs and gets into the hands of appropriate users in a timely fashion which allowing them to use it for making appropriate decisions. The climate information will have no much benefit for society if the results of climate information application research remain in the academic or research area and the climate information does not get into the hand of the users in a timely fashion so that it does not have some influence on practical decisions. To avoid this problem, there is a need to set up boundary institutions. Boundary institutions act as institutions that bridge science community, policy makers and communities (end users) to produce attractive and relevance climate information applications (CIA) for managing current and future climate risks, and to assist the process of integrating climate issues into local and national development policies. This paper highlights Indonesian approach in strengthening local scientists from different agencies to develop attractive and relevance climate information application for agriculture and to initiate a policy-science-community networking at local level under the APN CAPaBLE Project.
