Entering the third millennium, Indonesian is still challenged by various multidimensional problems dealing with the fundamental aspect of human life. Education plays a strategic role in community development. Unfortunately, this nation has not been able to manage it properly due to poor quality of its human resources quality compared to particularly with developed nations. Among the efforts to cope with the problem of education is to involve private-sector directly in the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) which is a form of its awareness and responsibilities. One of the main components of CSR is leadership and education development. Education plays an important role in the sustainable development and growth concerning the poor. Therefore business world can provide crucial contribution to prepare access to high quality education. Education creates a crucial impact on the people empowerment process through the improvement of leadership development standard within the corporation. Education development cannot go alone and its progress cannot also be achieved without the involvement of private-sector. Therefore a proper collaboration among private sectors, community and government is strategically needed. This can be materialized through CSR. The implementation of CSR is one form of a program called “Cooperative Academic Education” (Co-op). This is a program in which the three parties namely, students, universities and business world work together in a cooperative way. It forms a strategy of educating and developing human resources by integrating students coming from different campuses and disciplines with productive working experience. Through this “work-based learning” or “work-integrated learning”, it is expected that the students can find out and experience themselves what so- called the “job world.”id
