Abstract: Three rhizopseudomonas strains i.e. Lp 312.1; Lp 112.1, and L27A4Al, have been formulated as a multistrain biofertilizer based on their adaptability variation. The biofertilizer was applied in a greenhouse experimentation to study the capability of rhizopseudomonas to colonize 6 weeks-old sugarcane roots using conventional and serological tests. The results showed that there was a dynamic population of rhizopseudomonas derived from the biofertilizer. In general, single strain population showed higher population density compared to multistrain. Low population of multistrain was probably caused by the antagonistic interaction among them. However, it could be demonstrated that each strain was still alive and active following serological test. It was also evidence that three strains completely colonized 6 weeks-old sugarcane root surface. Domination of Lp. 312.1 strain on root surface was higher than either Lp 112.1 or L27A4Al as shown from both serological test using polyclonal antibody and aglutination test using root exudates.
