| dc.description.abstract | This experiment was carried out i n a g l a s s house at Bogor Research I n s t i t u t e f o r Estate Crops from October t o December 1983. Seedlings and s t e m cuttings of Stevia were used as plant materials and planted i n p l a s t i c p a i l s each containing 5 kg Latosol s o i l with various water tensions of pF 1.00 (52.4%), 2.00 (47.6 %) , 2.54 (43.0 %) , 3.50 (37.9 %) and 4.20 (30.1 %) respectively, and grown f o r 8 weeks. The f a s t e s t growth r a t e and the best growth condition of leaves, stems and roots were reached by Stevia c u t t i n g s which were planted on Latosol s o i l with pF 1.00. But the highest sugar content of the leaves were obtained by Stevia c u t t i n g s (3.43 %) and seedlings (2.83 %) grown a t pF 3.50 and 2.54 respect ively. | id |
