Support of Sustainable Development in the Institut Pertanian Bogor

Abstract

The Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), like most State universities in Indonesia, plays an important role in the support of sustainable development principles and policy adopted by the Government of Indonesia. IPB's activities are carried out through education, research and public service, which are undertaken by various departments and research centres. Most of the research and public service activities are carried out by the Environmental Research Centre with the support of relevant departments of IPB. To improve further the quality and scope of IPB's activities in supporting the sustainable development principle and policy, a workable networking cooperation with foreign universities and agencies should be developed.
