dc.description.abstractUltrasonic method was utilized for the measurement of attenuation of ultrasonic wave through durian. Thirty six .durians consits of ripe and unripe fruit harvested from Ciherang Bogor were tested. The whole durians were subjected to attenuation and physical properties measurement. Following this procedure, all durians were opened to measure firmness and total soluble solid (TSS) of the pulp. The data set were analyzed statiscally for the relationship between ultrasonic (Mo)parameter, firmness and TSS. There were significant relationship between Mo and firmness ( r = 0.76), and Mo and TSS (r = - 0.71). There a was also a significant relationship between ultrasonic parameter combined with mass (r = 0.84) and the firmness of durian'spulp. The equation model to determine firmness parameter was F=(2.8x I0 ') m' nMo' 75id
