Abstract: Exploiting mushrooms producing antimicrobial substances for controlling plant deseases is begin to be attended when the polution issues by using chemical pesticides have been increased. In connecting with the issues, the ability of methanol crude extract isolated from mycelium and fruiting body of Lentinus cladopus LC4 againts Xanthomonas campestris pv.glycines had been tested by paper disc assay method. The activity of both extracts showed strong inhibition and for each of that is about 80 AU/d and 40 AU/ml espectively. The crude extracts have high solubility in the polar solvents and stilI inhibit the bacterial growth after heating on 1 0 0 ' ~fo r 10 minutes and non toxic to host plant after 8 times of dilution. According to bioautographic detection on silica gel thin-layer chromatograms with Bacillus subtillis, rnycelial crude extract contains 3 active separated substances with the values of Rf are about 0.6, 0.72, and 0.83, but the crude extract of fruiting body contains 2 active separated substances with the values of Rf are about 0.63 and 0.86. The work is in progress on purification of the substances and activity test in vitro and in vivo.
