Abstract: Research on stony coral transplantation was conducted at 2- 4m depth on reef flat on Pari Island (Seribu Islands) from September 1998 to March f 999. The objectives of this research were to study growth rates of the stony cord transplantations. The results of stony coral transplantation were generally succesfbll with the survival rates in most cases ranging &om 83.33 - 100%. The biggest increase of length of the stony coral transplantation was found on Acropora yongei (i.e. X = 4.890 ern i 0.001), while the biggest increase of bud's amount of the stony coral was found on A. hyaciinthzcs (i.e. X = 52.75 i 0.433 ). The biggest encrusting length onto bamboo was found on A. hyacinthus (i.e. X = 1.6726111 Jr 0.433), while the biggest encmsting length onto ceramic was found on A. allsfera (i.e. X = 1.696crn .ic 0.082).The environmental condition of the research station i.e. the average temperature and salinity were respectively 28.364 O C . and 33ppt, which are optimal for the growth and survival of corals.
