Performa Reproduksi Sapi Perah pada Tiga Zona Klimatik di Bogor

Abstract

Dairy farms in Bogor are located in several climatic zones, e.g. Kebon Pedes (200 m above sea level, 25.6 OC), Tajw Halang (626720 m, 24.6 'c), and Cibeweum (1100-1180 m, 20.9 'C). This study was conducted to collect information on the reproductive performance and breeding program of dairy cattks in those three locations, and war carried out from March to June 2001. Data wen collected by survey method based on observation in thefisld and interviews with farmers, and than were anaiyzcd by desc~iptive analysis using data tabuhtbn analysis and t-test. Almost all farmers used ar@pCial inseminution, bul some farmer at K.bon Peaks still used the natural mating system. Cattle selection at the other two locations on external parformawe. Replacement stock number at Tqiur Halang and Cibeumum were higher than those required due to low cattle mobility. Intervals between calving andflrst estrous of cattles at :he three locations were 1.50, 1.57, and 1.87 months, and the jkrt mating occurred after 342.4, and 2.3 months, respective@. There wem no signipccrnf d#2rences in number of service per conception among three locations (Kebon Pedes 1.81tI.23, Tqiur Hahng1.97d.02, Cibeumum 1.82d.04). The calving interval at Tqiur Halang (12.80d.33 months) was shorfer (Pc0.01) tlum tlurt at Kebon Pedes (15.606.08 months) and Cibeumum (14.12t7.88 months).
