Abstract: The traditional life of community has close relation to the naturalresources and environmental. One of their interactions is related of the plants utilization. This interaction is an experience from traditional knowledge which has been inherited by the ancestors, generation to generation. That knowledge is lather developed by adapting to the environmental in order to keep the survival. This study is aimed to understand and explore traditional knowledge of Bunaq ethnic in using plants The result of this study hopefully can be information material to the development, utilization and preservation of useful plants sustainably and based on local wisdom. This study was conducted at Dirun Village, Lamaknen Subdistrict, Belu Regency, the Province of East Nusa Tenggara during 2 months, July to September 2009. The material that used in his study were documents, report from certain institutions, herbarium, alcohol 70%, while the tools that used were camera, secondary newspapers, plastics, wattle, tally sheet, questioner, tape recorder, label and stationary.
