Abstract: Sistem jajar legowo menawarkan keunggulan yang signifikan, namun penerapannya di kalangan petani di Kabupaten Indramayu, termasuk Desa Tukdana, masih terbatas.
The Jajar Legowo planting system offers significant advantages, yet its adoption among farmers in Indramayu Regency, including those in Tukdana Village, remains limited. This study aims to analyze farmers’ perceptions of the Jajar Legowo system in rice cultivation within the Sukatani Farmers’ Group in Tukdana Village, as well as examine the relationship between farmers’ perceptions and their characteristics (age, education level, and land size). The research was conducted from September 2024 to December 2025 with 30 rice farmers as respondents, using a mixed-methods approach through observation, interviews, and Likert-scale questionnaires measuring knowledge and attitudes, which were constructed into the perception variable. The findings indicate that farmers’ knowledge of the Jajar Legowo system remains relatively low, their attitudes fall into the moderate category, and there is a significant positive correlation between knowledge and attitude (r= 0,609). Farmers’ perceptions show a very weak correlation with age (r= 0,346; p > 0,05) and education (r = -0,310; p > 0,05), but a significant relationship with land size (r= 0,458; p < 0,05). A simple regression test further shows that land size significantly influences perception (p= 0,011), while age (p= 0,061) and education (p= 0,095) have no significant effect. Supporting factors for positive perceptions include active agricultural extension, the presence of pioneer farmers, and accessible information, whereas inhibiting factors consist of low attendance in extension activities, strong conventional farming habits, and limited program support.
